Note the complete introduction of the teacher. 2. Write the teacher’s expectations from them. 3. Narrate the complete introduction of each other. 4. Share their expectations from the teacher. Resources: Chart papers, A4 size papers, flashcards, pen, transparent tap, marker, Multimedia. Stages Activities Time Initiation Facilitator’s Introduction: The facilitator will perform the following activities for introducing him/herself.  Greeting  Personal: (Name & Area)  Qualifications: (Academic and Professional)  Experience: (Teaching of subject)  Likes & Dislikes (w.r.t Chemistry.) (Favourite Element, compound, mixture, metal, and non-metal) Facilitator’s Expectation from the Class: The classic Hawthorne study at Western Electric’s plant in Cicero, Illinois (1927–1932), provides data that suggests that teachers’ expectations can greatly influence students’ performance. Like the workplace, the classroom is a powerful social network, and students’ feelings about both their teachers and classmates have important implications for how much they are willing to exert themselves to succeed at learning. Students’ aptitudes are less important than their attitudes about schoolwork in predicting their academic achievements. The teacher will share with the students that these are his/her major expectations from the class for the coming academic year. 1. Performance in academics and participation in cocurricular activities. 2. Positive attitude with the teacher and classmates. 3. Punctuality and regularity. 4.Classroom organization and responsibility. 5. Cleanliness in the classroom. Activity: The facilitator will display the following questions about his/her introduction through PPT or display in front of the class on a chart. Students will randomly reply to these questions and other students will judge whether the answer is right or wrong. Questions: a. What is my surname? b. which area I belonged to? c. what is my highest academic qualifications? d. Which is my favourite mixture and non-metals? What are my 1st and 3rd expectations from your class? 15 min. Developmental Students’ Introduction: The teacher will display the following questions on chart or through PPT and student will write the answer to these questions on flashcards provided to them and then share with the whole class. 1. What is your name and where are you from? 2.What is the name of your previous school (if newly admitted)? 3.What profession do you like to adopt in life? (The student will not verbally tell the class about his/her aim. He/she will act, and other student will guess his profession in life) 4. What is your most important resolution for this new academic year? 20 min. Homework Students will write a paragraph on their “EXPECTATIONS FROM THE TEACHER” and submit in next class. The teacher will analyze these expectations, and this will help the teacher to bring improvement in his/her classroom teaching.
